Can anyone ID this fish?

I know that it is a damsel I have had it for over a year and it has been a model citizen in my tank with no aggression to any other fish.

It was bought as a yellow tail but as you can see it is not. I have searched the internet high and low and still cannot find a positive ID for this fish.

could it be a starkri damsel
They end up looking a lot like a pygmy angel
I dont know where it is on the web, but a friend has two that look almost identicle. HTH Steve

I don't think it's a starki, the colors are opposite of what a starki is.
The closest I came was a chrysiptera rex (King Demoisell) the shape of the fins and body match but the color is not quite right. Here's a link to the fish I found the closest match to.

If you look at the damsel page at fishbase that page alone has hundreds of entries for damsels and after spending most of the morning wading through all the pics I finally found that guy.
I guess looking high and low wasn't good enough so I had to look somewhere in the middle.LOL

Do you have any idea if it was Atlantic or Indo-Pacific?

If the fish truly is a chrysiptera rex they're from the Pacific around the Phillipines.

I was more curious if you knew where the store said it came from. That way we could narrow down the possibilities.
