Hi all, found the site while looking for an ID on a Tang Type somebody asked for.

And before you say "yellow tang"...it's the front one

not certain but possibly a 'blue' tang(Acanthurus coeruleus)

i thought that too..maybe it needs to mature more.

it did have a snout similar to the bristle tooths

But I saw the pics of the Acanthurus coeruleus tho the head looks different

My guess would be Yellow Eye Kole Tang - Ctenochaetus strigosus.

It is a Atlantic Blue Tang Acanthurus coeruleus. One thing it is not is a Chevron Tang Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis or a Yellow Eye Tang Ctenochaetus strigosus

um maybe a deformed black tang or a kole tang because i have seen them in that color.

As much trouble as we're all having IDing it, except for Boomer, I'm glad it isn't living in my tank...lol. It's bad enough we get all these hitchhikers we can't ID, I don't want a fish I can't ID....lol.

That is a beautiful tang, they get big but at that size are beautiful.
