Can Anyone Identify This?

Hello Reefers,

Next to my Pom-Pom coral is something new growing below the Pom-Pom coral of the same color. Is this part of the Pom-Pom? Reason I ask is, I have another rock covered with Pom-Pom's and this is not attached to that rock.

It's not part of the Xenia. It's a sponge.

Not dangerous at all, and a beneficial filter feeder. It'll help filter the water.

+1 on the sponge. The long thin parts of it will probably break off from time to time but it’s a good thing to have.
