Can corals cure cancer?

I recieved an e-mail from my mom about Red Sea corals being effective in fighting cancer:eek:, and this is the first article I found about the research. I'm sure there is more information somewhere.

Pretty cool if they can really put this to good use, but does us no good if we kill off all the reefs. I keep wondering how this Japan radiation crisis is going to impact the already bad situations.
 
Judging by the name of the chemical compound "sarcophine-diol ", I wonder if they take this from a sarcophyton (toadstool leather)? If so, I have some cancer medicine in my tank!:eek2:
 
I read something somewhere as well saying that certain marine algae might be able to do the same. Crazy...We need to live in the ocean if that is the case :p
