around there really
I have a premium reef supply 3 stage ro/di system and I was wondering if it'd be possible to add 1 or two more stages to the unit.

If so could I just kinds in line them?
and could I use the same membrane and just redo the outs and ins on the set up.

Thanks

there is no reason you cannot add on to your system in fact many of the companies out there (The Filter Guys, Purely H20, etc) have add on canisters just for that reason you would simply take the output line and run it to the input of the new canister and if necessary just rearange the order of filters but doubtful you would need to do that.

alright ill have to see how to go about doing that cause ill tell ya the people at lowes dont know didley about the subject and it kinda makes me mad ya know

It dont seem like it'd be to hard I just dont know where to reroute all the intake and out take tubes

Any more ideas???

take a picture of your unit and post it as an attachment I will mark it up and repost it for you...

Thanks here is a pic let me know if you need close ups!!!

can you give me a closer look on both sides of the unit something does not look quite right there but with the lighting it could just be trickery on my eyes

I would just get a 3 piece filter set from the filter guys and a single add-on di canister. Use the three you have for the prefilters ----> membrane ---->then the new di canister. That will give you a pretty good system assuming the membrane is worth keeping.

Don

Yeah I just got the membrane don a but its only like 50 gpd or something like that, I got my water down to like 0 ppm but I just want overkill I guess plus I think it'll look cool

Believe it or MOT scooterman the damn thing came like that. Its a spectra pure or something like that and the last 3 I bought have been like that and there like 30 bucks. The ones they have at lowes have like a hole all the way down the middle but the ones I get at my LfS has both ends stopped to where the water HAS TO travel through the cartridge to escape. I love the way that works. Do they sale these spectra pure cartridges anywhere else

Are they not suspose to look like that. Its the one that turns completley brown when its dead.

Sorry no pics tonight my girl jogged the pc but 1st thing in the morn I'm gonna be posting all kinda pics so get ready

Naw if that is how they look new then I'm guessing it is fine. I'd get two 75GPD membranes to make a ton of water fast but it will cost you some to do the upgrade, you need another RO housing & a new flow restrictor, with so many tanks I think you would appreciate it though. Look up the Filter Guys on our sponsor list, call them & let them hook you up with the parts etc you need, also you don't need to use spectra pure filters, you can use theirs.

ok these first two pics are of the left and right back side of the system, and the others are of the top, and front

thanks ahead of time for your help again

Yea, get you another add on canister, put the first filter in it & the hose connections the same way it is now. That you will run a new line (comes with the new kit) to the filter that you just took out & voilà, you can put you another carbon block or one of the other carbon options, they make a two part carbon system check out that website. thefilterguys.biz

I'm gunna throw a stick at Ya;)
No man, get an add on canister & carbon filter, then we can hook it up, how does that sound? It is easy to add on!

http://www.thefilterguys.biz/housings.htm

Get one of these!

cut the blue line and stick the add on cartridge in between the two blue lines... (assuming that the blue line is going over to the faucet) I would use one of the prefilter chloramine carbon filters as the new stage being first they say it helps extend the life of the membrane....

nope ive got no idea
I know that the blue line is the one that the good water comes out of though

And the yellow one is the one the bad water comes out of

And the black lone is the one I connect to the fauchet.

Thanks but I'm gonna have to do some research on this or either buy one and do trial and error

ok then if the black one is the one to the faucet that is the one you want to cut and put the canister inline with.... Sorry looked like the blue was running off to the faucet.... All your doing is cutting the inlet line to the system and adding the add on canister there nothing else needs to change....
