Ok. Woke up this morning to see this on one of my rocks. So I grabbed the camera and took some CRAPPY pics. LOL. I hope someone can ID this as hopefully a good creature and not a bad. some type of nudi?
Definitely a Zoanthid eating Nudi. If it was found near a Zoanthid colony, you may want to pull that colony out, dip it and inspect it very closely for egg clusters. Will probably want to use a magnifying glass. I would start with the colony to the far left, that is all closed up.
thanks. I just pulled it and pulled 5 out. I looked close with a magnifying glass and did not see any eggs or anymore. I did pull my other zoos and did not find any. thanks for the info and I will have to keep an eye out.
Pulled my other zoos with no sign. I have dipped in coral dip and found no more. The original colony I double dipped. They r pissed. So I will be watching that colony now. Hopfully I got it in time.
Those are NUDI's are just as bad as Aptasia. Seriously. I happily introduced them into my tank with the meal they came in on. (colony of zoo's) I was so happy when they finished off the colony they were on and moved to the next colony of high priced unwanted zoo's. I did everything wrong. I should have quarantined them. An expensive lesson. I picked for months, tried fresh water dips with no luck, I pulled eggs off and no luck. Those guys are good and engineered to kill. You get rid of one and 5 more will sprout up. I learned the hard way of the importance of a quarantine tank.
after checking several times last night and this morning I am more convinced that I did get them all. In all I did find 8-9 on the original colony along with 2 eggs. I did coral dip them (severly and pretty much over dosed during dip) and used a flashlight and mag glass to thoughly go thru the piece. I definalty will be continusly checking. I will also be dipping any new pieces and highly inspecting them before introducing them to the tank. Thanks for all the info and help guys. Its greatly appreciated.
