There are about 50 parts that make up this THING. ( On the inside)
Thinks about it for a minute. No guesses? Come on think!!!!

I should give you a hint.

But not yet. The exterior has 13 or 14 different kinds of wood included in the build.
I made 5 of them for our grandkids for X-mas this past year.

OK a hint, the center dial with 24 notches in it is the starting point.

Here is another look

The long notch in the dial lets the outer part slide to the left. Then you must rotate the dial 180 deg. to move the other out side part. In turn it lets the other 2 outside parts slide.

This is the cover that hold all the working parts in.

You can see the void in the edge. There is one in each corner. A small tendon will slide in and out of this void.
Now the cat is out of the bag. It is a puzzle box.
This is the one I kept for myself. All 5 were different on the outside, but the inside remained the same.

There is only 1 of 48 moves to start the puzzle to work. You must find the long notch. And know witch way to push the dial. Once that is figured out then you can move the one of the bars. And so on

All of the boxes, but one were opened in less than 15 min. I was hoping for hours. LOL

I made one for my son and told him it was full of cash. When he got it opened he found a poster of Johnny Cash, giving the finger. LOL

If it was a clock it would've drove me insane! They looked amazing.. I almost guessed music boxes also >.> but I was to late.

Thanks dtd87
Clocks are much more detailed on the inside than this. I suppose you could make it a music box.
