I dont know why Plack. They look just fine on my computer. The reflectors are that german mirror bright electo polished aluminum. Its supposed to be certified 98.7% reflective and not corrode or wear off.

I'm going there tomorrow to do maintence. I will take photos of the the attachments.
Basicly I built a frame for them out of 1"x1" square wood. Then offset over the top of that with 1x1 to set the MH off the wood top. I will try to draw how it works. Cant do it tonight though.

Steve- Any updated pix on the finished product? It looks fantastic by the way. I did have a few questions if you have a minute...

What type of wood did you use?
What type of stain did you use?
how much did the materials run you all together?

I am starting to plan my own tank/canopy redesign, so this is why I ask. Thanks!
Ben

Sure. I am building two new ones now.
Each one uses 4 4'x8' sheets of 3/4" oak plywood.
18-20 120" long pieces of what is called 1"x3" red oak.
1 96" x 7" x 3/4" red oak
1 96" x5" x 3/4" red oak
3 4'x8' 1/4" oak plywood.
about 6 or 7 boxes of kreg screws.
8 sets of wraparound hinges
If you are paitent I will have the whole thing up step by step. It just takes alot of time to build for me. I own a business, and it keeps me busy, plus a three year old, plus a girlfriend, plus a group that I am treasurer for, we are putting on a 3 day conference at the end of may so we are meeting alot, and doing fundraisers, plus the dang cats and dog want feed, and everything else to. LOL
Depending on errors there is 600-700$ worth of material, I charge cost of materials + 10% times 3-4 depending on how much the market can bear. LOL
The problem with that estimate is that tool wear is not accounted for. Brushes, thinner, drill bits, worn out drill bits, worn out router bits and such and the like.
If you dont already have one, look up KREG fastening tools. They are very very strong, and very simple to use. Also good (60-120$) saw blades are a real money saver and they make it so much easier to do a good job. I got two frued 80t TiCarbides a couple weeks ago. It makes the miters just exact, and end cuts with no tear out.
2 sets of back to back hinges.
I use minwax natural stain, and helmsman U.V. restant outdoor polyurathane.

Well thank you. I have to get some pics of the ones I am finishing now. I just did the outer router work today on two of them. I painted the inside of one with the second coat of white garage floor enamel, the other one is already dry. I still have to build the floating panel doors for the base of the stands. Then the bottoms will be done, and I have to get started on the canopy. I am just so damn slow. The people that want them, want them done quick, and its just impossible to do it quick and work. Here are some pics of the new stands, they are old and I need to take new pics. All the outer framing oak is on and routed, the C-channel bracing of oak is applied. and they are really looking good.

Hey that last one is an entertainment center!
You cant fool me. ;)
Like I said you'll have to quit your other job so you can go full time with your ART!
Great job.

Maui :D
