Wow 400 replies and 6058 views to this thread already and I don't even have 1 fish in my tank LOL, that's awesome!!! thank you so much for your help and support you all!!!

james734: yes, it's been a while. The tanks has been running since January. Unfortunately I had some problems with my first Clowns, they are fine now and will be in the tank in a few weeks so it is all good now.

spongebob lover: thanks a lot for your comments. By the way, where can I see your tanks? I've been meaning to ask you that for a while.

As I mentioned recently, I plan to add some Zoos to my tank. I was reading about them Today and Marine Depot Live says that they are venomous and that you can really get in trouble if you handle them without gloves.

I was wondering if all of them are venomous and if this mean that I won't be able to stick my hands in the tank without gloves anymore? I know it sounds paranoid, I am just curious; any particular kind that you would recommend?

You don't want to handle them without gloves Carlos, you can end up in a hospital LOL but don't let that scare you, lots of things can be poisonous in your reef tank, get some long gloves when digging inside your tank full of corals. One last thing about Zoos, being as they are I don't know how sps will fair with them, they may live but not necessary thrive together, I'd read lots more about anything you put inside your tank. I know it is a tough call but your at the point where a goal should be put in place. Just some words, IMO's LOL no fear! Zooes are beautiful BTW! When your needing help like this post in Anthony's forum & ask, also let him know what are your goals as far as what you want to keep together in your 60g tank.

I've had zoos before and never had an issue, but I have always been cautious. They are toxic and you should wear gloves at all times just to be safe. I've seen friends around here pic them up all the time bare handed and not have a reaction, but maybe they were just lucky or are not really affected by them. I never took the chance. Better safe than sorry:)

Yesterday I got a Cleaner Shrimp and a Fire Shrimp, they both look great. I offered them some Cyclops this afternoon and they both went for it, kind of shy but they ate. I love the color of the Fire Shrimp, he looks like a little lobster.

That's all for now. I'm still doing my homework on Zoos.

Usually you want to quarentine everything although I am one of the guilty ones who never quarentined anything  It's a bad a practice, but everything should always be quarentined. You never know what can be transferred...:)

Congrats on the new additions! :D

Hmmm...You may have to try and get some lighting that is similar to what is over the main display or atleast sufficient enough to where your corals can thrive well under. Quarentine tanks to me is like having a miniature version of your main tank. The main tank is expensive enough much less trying to have 2!

If the corals are healthy from the get go they can go a while with less light but as Krish said it doesn't hurt to have a complete mini set-up.

Wow

Yeah that is like too much! and the thing is that it's not just the lighting but the problem with the heat. Honestly I've tried to do everything right so far but I don't thing I will be dealing with a second tank anytime soon. Just keeping the main tank running and doing water changes to the QT every other day is plenty for now. I guess I will have to take a few risks now and then.

Well, if you are getting the frags from a trust worthy person then it's not so much of a risk. It's when you buy from any and everywhere you are more likely to end up with a problem. Like I've said, I never quarentined anything I've ever had and never had an issue, but it is not something I would ever recommend to anyone else:)

Summer is getting hot where I live and it's going to be an issue very soon. I have a fan blowing in my sump that usually keeps the tank cool but when the lights come on, it looks like it is not enough. I was wondering if some fans in the canopy would help. I don't have much space so that's another problem.

What do you guys think?

I ran fans in my canopy Carlos and it helped alot! I still ended up buying a chiller just to have a bit more security, but fans do make a difference. I had a total of 5 fans in my 75gal canopy and 2 in my 38gal canopy.:)

Hmm...I know icecap sells some with thermostats that speed up the fan and slows it down depending on the temperature, but they are a bit costly. I just used regular 12V fans like what you can buy from Radio Shack and a power converter and called it a day. I'll grab a few pics for you on how I did it to give you a few ideas. Give me a few:)

Here's what I did on my 75gal. I used (2) of these 5 inch fans which were 12v fans and just made a bracket out of aluminium to mount them. .

Here's a pic of the 3 inch ones I used as well next to a 5 inch.

Here's how I mounted mine. I used (3) 3inch fans to suck hot air out of the top and (2) 5 inch fans to blow cool air across the water. Worked well:)
