I stopped in at IKEA last night to look around a bit and stumbled onto an led kit.
36 LEDs for $50
They can light in:

green
dark blue (looks like 460nm actinics) really pulls the metallics out on the corals
purple
light blue (moon lighting)
yellow
white (moon lighting)
red (I had read somewhere that red lighting does not affect sleeping fish, so I can use it to look at some night time polyp extension)

Here's the link:

There are four 10" strips which can be plug together to create a 40" strip or you can connect them with 4" flex extensions, or run all four individually.

They have end caps and also include stainless steel brackets to attach the strips.

This is an excellent deal as most aquarium LED's average around $7-$25 per LED. I am goind to attach these to the bottom lip of my luminarc stealth. I'll post some pics when its done.

I saw something similar at Costco and thought about buying them, but from what I could tell everytime you turned them off and then back on you had to reset what color they would be. Do these stay the same color when you turn them off and then back on?

I'll go check right now

I unplugged them from the wall for about 2 minutes and when I plugged them back in they were the same color. I changed to another color and did it again and it stayed the same color.

So you don't need to reset it to the color you want every time they turn on.

Those do look cool, thanks for the info. I think those might be a little bit different than the Costco ones, and I am sure Costco doesn't have theirs anymore, it was during the holidays that I saw them there.

Do you think that the dark blue would be a nice actinic supplement for a 10k 150w MH? Do they make the corals fluoresce?

Its tough to say, the dark blue does make them glow very much. BUT with a 250 watt DE bulb you cannot see the LED's with the lights on. Maybe with a 150, but I cannot say for sure.
