Kind comments

Sorry about not responding people! I have been out of town for a week. Hope I can answer all the questions.

1. Cdeakle the camera ran about $1700.00 per camera and came with everthing to get them going! Very easy to set-up. Nuspectra is the name of the websight. Nuspectra cameras. Try a google web search. I have a better way to go if anyone want to set-up such a system. Technology has changed and is cheaper and better since my camera. Hope this has helped.

2. Disturbed reefer get a hold of me about the lights.

Thank you all for you kind comments. I appreciate the time you took to send a comment.

I would be interested if you know a way to setup a system like yours on the cheap!

I check out your camera all the time. I love to watch your tangs. I don't know what I wish I had more, your tank or your camera setup. =)

Camera

Don't know of a cheap way! I have though, seen someone put a camera from their computer to a fixed location. Just could not move it around though. If you have anymore questions give me a shout.

I setup mine for $100 with my webcam, it doesn't move but its not that big of a problem, doesn't need a computer to connect to.. so it pretty nice.

very nice price!

That sounds to good to be true! Nice work on the camera for $100. You should share to other people how your method works.

yeah josh, more specifics please sir?

Model and make of camera? What software? How did you hook it all up?

Just like a man bumming a cig form another then asking for a light. "Do you want me to smoke it for you to?" LOL

http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2235 Was my thread.

For quick reference its a D-Link DCS-1000, connected to a D-Link router, the Camera has a built in webserver and the router has a public IP, I added DNS to point @ that IP Address and then set the router to allow passthrough traffic from the web port (port 80) to go dirrectly to the camera, end result is when you type

fishy.iamjosh.com it passes straight to the camera inside my network.

The cam is off right now because I'm looking for a new angle to get a good shot of my 125, maybe I'll work on that this weekend I'll keep you posted.

cool

Thank you for the update! Great article. Might try that at home for security measures and checking out the kids.
