Yeah so I got tired of my nano cube so I literally spontaniously blew money I didn't have on a light that most would picture being above a nice sized tank, but all I had was a tiny 10 gal from walmart, so check it out what do you think.

I hope you have it set up with an autofill. cause you are going to evaporate the whole tank each day with that light

i have 400watts 20k xm over my 20g tall works out great. its 2 ft above my tank. temp stays at 78to 79 in the day and 77 to 78 at night and so far no algea bloom been running for over 7 or 8 mnths

Congrats... Welcome then to the 40B club... You will like it. 400 watt on a 16 inches from water to bulb works out ok too.. And since you are using 20k, temp is not issue compared to 10k's... I used to have that setup. But ended up having 2x250 watt for several years.... And now I moved to T5HO.

oh my..

how many watts???

I think kevin said it was a 285 watt light. And I've noticed the evap. It sucks but I got lots and lots of water to replace it with. i'll just replace the water every night. I got no fish so I'm not too worried. Everything I got Kevin said is very easy to keep so no worries. I'm thinking about just hosting coral and my inverts in this tank until I can afford to go with a 75 or larger. First I gotta recoup from the heavy financial blow I took from buying this light. But all in all I think it was worth it.
