Tunze WaveBox Design

The way it works is with a single powerhead in the box. There is a controller that measures when the wave hits its crest inside the box. When that happens it turns on the powerhead for a short time. The wave bounces off the far end of the aquarium and returns to the box and the whole process repeats itself. Since the speed of the wave will be different depending on how long your aquarium is, this is a very fun idea. I've read that the stress this causes on the seams can reduce the lifespan of the tank by several years. The box also allows you to adjust the height of the wave so you can have just a small tsunami in your living room.

I see a British site with it for $575. I can't find any US sites selling it yet. Its still new.

thats a whole lot of water rocking back and forth, looks cool but I dont trust it... I can just see it now 50g of saltwater on teh floor. I'll stick with my Tunze streams. :)

but how would that work with an overflow? wouldn't it slosh? or is it meant to be used without overflows?

Looks good if you don't plan on having a full tank or if your tank is drilled for drains instead of overflows. Probably not home aquarium friendly.
