So i decided to start out with a nice set up and big plans to collect some cool looking corals. I like all the colorful stuff so, let see where this will go.

yes it is the illuminata, so far i'm loving it. yeah i got lazy with looking for trusses on the ceiling and hanging it from there. but yeah it works.

That's a really cool skimmer! Is it really that small or is it just the picture making it look that way?? Any idea what it is rated for??

well tank is up and running, had to tweak the sump a little bit cause it didnt look right how the water was flowing through. now it's good and i'm happy. Now i just gotta wait and then i can get some corals in there. cool.

Looks great Chingon!
I know another illuminata build and it too is coming out wonderfully.
Better choice then the RSM IMO.
You should not have to hang that light from studs in the ceiling. Some simple ceiling anchors would hold just fine if installed properly and no one tried doing the monkey from your fixture

ALRIGHT so i added some sand today. i didnt rinse it cause i'm not rushing. here's some pics

i have to say this thing is pretty cool. Its a basic but pretty darn good.

now just gotta figure out where to put the bucket.

Got home today and its clear. that was fast.
Time to do some rock work. i'm starting to see some starfish around, cool.

Got cloudy after the rock work but its back to clear now.
