hi all I have a used 90 gallon tank I just brought home. the guy had it up and running and said that it has been for a few years. while looking at it when I got it home I realized there was a small chip in the one seam about three quarters of the way up. It does not go all the way through and only goes about one third of the way in. as I said he was running for a few years with no problems or leaks. Any one know if this will be ok to use? my pics are too big... so pm me and ill send ya pics. thanks

my 40B has a chip in it because someone hit it when I had a party and no one would say who did it... fill the tank up and see if it leaks over a few days. You can fill the chip in with silicone to make it look better if it is not leaking.

A picture is worth a thousand words on an issue like this. Photobucket or ImageShack are free and easy to use :)

If it is anything more then a superficial chip that is not very deep at all I would personally not sleep well with that tank. IMO and IME if its a deep chip in a seem its only a matter of time until the tank leaks or worse, the pain can shatter :(

I have a 75 with a chip size of a quarter on back right side corner about 7 inches from top, it been running 2 + years without any issues, I did use some epoxy to cover sharp edges, a picture will help

As long as it's just a surface clamshell chip I wouldn't worry too much. My tanks got one
