Steve,

I am considering adding 3-4 of Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis to a 75 gallon tank. Do you have any advice on these guys? Any cautions? From the research I have done so far they seem like pretty hardy fish that look good (at least in my eyes). Just wanted to check around and see if there are any hidden problems that I don't know about.

Thanks,
-Reed

I have not heard anything negative on this species to be concerned about. They are on the easier side as far as this type of fish goes. The usually precautions apply for the genus as a whole though. Feeding, one male, aggressive tank mates etc. Try to buy locally as apposed to online shipments as well.

What are the tank mates?

Thanks for the reply Steve.

Tank mates are as follows:
  • Double saddleback butterfly
  • Majestic angel
  • false percs
  • bicolor blenny
  • scopus tang
That's it...all fed blender mush of fresh seafood + selcon & nori sheets. I also plan to culture algae for feeding in the future.

Any advice is always appreciated
Thanks!
-Reed
