http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=12799 thats the link to its site on dr. foster and smiths. But as far as useing it then stopping no the purple algae will not die off. its a fertilizer that just accelerates its growth. and it doesnt cause bad algae to grow either. it hasnt for me. and i dont use it according to what it recomends either if i did my purple algae would be even better. i use it like once a month or so just kinda as i think of it.

No its not a fertilizer nor is is a good additive for a reef tank. Its really not much more than pulverized aragonite. What happens is your just dosing ca and alk which is growing the coraline. The problem is the fines go into the rock work. Once they get into the low ph zones the aragonize dissolves just like a calcium reactor that you have no control over. This causes chemistry ups and downs which makes keeping a reef difficuly to maintain. Its not needed nor is it helping coraline if you keep your water chemistry in check.
Its good for FOLR tanks when you dont care about chemistry and only want coraline.

wow yours is reproducing!!does it look like you can frag it?oh no in that pic my brain just ate, when its eating it really opens huge,,and when its not it puffs up really really huge..funny coz after it poo it shrinks really small..do you feed yours?mine go crazy with pellets..i research about it and i found a pic exact as mine..they are found in deep and muddy waters..does yours have a cone shape base..?
where did you buy yours and how much if you dont mind me asking..

i was playing on craiglist and found this guy that was selling live rock outta this tank he was breaking down in this dentists office. so for the brain and the cool wierd looking rock "its really spikey" i paid $15. the third brain is off to the left it shares the same red outside but has its owne small center. and as far as the fragging goes i have no clue about any of that stuff. maybe mine doesnt like where its positioned cause it never opens up and shows its tentacles. once in awhile when i dump phyto plankton in it will put a few out. it used to open before i moved a lil bit. cant believe how cool yours looks thoe

wow thats a pretty good deal,$15..try putting it on the substrate..then at night put like 3-5 pellets(formula one)..and see if it opens up..mine when opens it has like 5-8 mouths u can even see the inside(guts):D then i squirt cyclopeeze on the tentacles..its been growing ever since..when i bought it i didnt know it would open like that..i got excited..i wish mine will grow babies like yours

ill try that but there in a rock moreless so ill stick the rock in the sand. they have a like spiky castle wall around them. but i will try to do that thoe cause i want mine to be all open and cool
