Hey folks I got a call from from a buddy of mine that is collecting out of vietnam. Well long story short I orderd a boat load of clams (65 :) )
they should be here around the middle of July, so if thier is anyone that wants some let me know.
They are in the 3 inch and 4 inch sizes. and are Ultra maximas and some hand pick 1 st grade Crocea. Man the Crocea's are unreal.
Am am not sure what you folks think But I was thinking that if your a registered member here you need to get them super cheap :D

OK sounds good, they come in around the 15th of July, when thier in I will post an announcement and you folks come on down. I am not sure exactly what the cost will be (shipping from vietnam sucks, lol) but I think are 30 to 35 bucks for either. Keep your fingers crossed.

How do you deal with quarantine on a clam (or would you bother)? I always felt that there is more stress and problems quarantining than not, but haven't gotten wild stuff in a long time...

Jon

JOn that is a good question. The main thing to look for with wild clams is driller snals (pyrmidal sp?). I am getting a wrasse that feeds on them, plus I will inspect them when they come in. The other is disease, this one is tough but does not come up very often, a shipment last year fro the solomons had a gapeing disease, and alot of clams died, but I am not sure how to defend against it.
Personally in my tank, I do the normal acclimation and then in they go.

Cool paul, the crocea are unreal, I perfer them to the max. They are in blues, green, black, red, just all sorts of colors. Looks like alot of folks are going to want to get some. Good thing I bought 60  :D

These are halide only clams? How about 440vho on a 75gal?I wouldn't want to put something in that would be off to a bad start because of light requirements.

I will be kicking my Flame Angel out of my tank very soon so I would be very interested in picking a Clam up. Does any body want a healthy Flame Angel?

Thanks Mike,

I can recall the days of toothpicks in the flukes to get rid of those nasty snails  I will inspect and clean before putting them in as best possible. It's been 7-8 years since the last clams I had... I'll have to brush up on placement.
