Hey Barry I did a little diggin for ya on that pinched clam problem. Research is kinda still leading me down the path of protozoans, thier seems to be a strong denominator. Most disease problems seem to be tied to protozoa's and you see some controls in the wild with salinity and temp. I will keep diggin, in the mean time ths might help with your white spot disease.

Mike, after our conversation last night and the more I think about protozoans the more I want to research some more documentation out their so if you can send me some link to that library we talked about, I will dedicate myself to some reading time. :)

Any further insight on the pinched mantle would be awesome. My smaller clam is showing signs of the mantle curling again after the second fresh water dip.

I dont think so M Madox. I would imagine they would not be specific to one particular species. I do understand that they are more previlent in croceas then maxi's but that could also do with the location they were harvested from. Barry are the maxi's and crows coming from the same source or are the crows veitnam??

All the maximas are coming from Marshall and 85% of our croceas come from Veitnam and the other 15% come from Salomon.

Do previously healthy clams ever exhibit pinching? What about farm raised?

The first question is difficult to answer as I am really not too sure about that. Second question, not in my experience. Dropped a note to Rod at the Marshall farm, asking if thy have noticed this but haven't heard back from him. :(
