I just read the classifides section post started by tachimaster. I guess I missed the bus on that one as I am no longer and everyday lurker on this forum anymore, I had some genuine input I wanted to add to the mix and after reading I had discovered that the thread was closed for buisness....NEW THREAD TIME!!!
Eh, well to my point.
Like I stated above, I am no longer an everyday lurker on this forum mainly due to the classified section being changed. It was not the functionalitiy of the classifieds moreso the LOCATION of the LINK TO the classifieds. I might be wrong BUT I remember the forsale threads having to be accessed from the forums page NOT the reeffrontiers main page. As little as it may be, it definitly caused me to frequent the forums more overall (meaning all sections of the forums). Now I don't have to even scrool down on the main page I just click in the top right corner, glance and go on about my day. Having to actually access the forums page caused me to wander around in the forums section on a more regular basis, I feel the location of the link to the classifieds is not in a good location.
Also I noticed people talking about the inability to BUMP the classifieds to let the buyers know that the product is still for sale etc...
Has anyone thoght about an auto-delete function that deletes ALL posts to the classifieds after say a few weeks?? That way ANYTHING on the classifieds could be considered "new and fresh" that wouldn't take away from a users ability post a comment on there item saying "SOLD!" etc... If something has not been sold after a few weeks, make a new post to try and sell it again BAM!! to the top you go, it would force a revolving door of sorts, keep the classifieds neat and tidy, and help those would-be sellers from getting messages about items they had for sale 12 years ago that have been long gone (pretty extreme but you get the idea).
Thats was it... what do you all think??
