So my shrimp decided to change clothes and instead of getting rid of the old outfit, he decided to leave it lying on the sand bed like the slob that he is. I'm just wondering if I should get it out of there asap or is it allright to just leave in there. It's out of sight behind my rocks so I don't see it so other then that it doesn't bother me, but will it effect the water chemestry?

I've taken mine out before and then I've left them. Hasn't seemed to make a difference on my water quality. I suppose if you had a 3½ gallon tank it would but most setups are big enough to handle it.

If you have a good clean up crew it should be gone in a couple of days.

I leave mine in, but thats just because I'm lazy. It would probably be better to remove. No biggie either way.

arent you supposed to leave it to retain trace iodine levels present in thier molt?

I would rely on regular water changes for that.
