My cleaning crew of several different types of snails and hermit crabs I have really cleaned up 98% of the algae I had in the tank. The only thing they do not seem to touch is the bubble algae.

So now that they have gotten rid of a huge portion of the other types of algae I had. What do they eat to stay alive? What do I supplement their diet with?

Thanks

Bubble algae can be tough to get rid of. Manual removal with a siphon close by during a water change works the best for me.

As posted, they'll keep on eating algaes that form. My trochus snails attack the algae on a clip....usually when the lights go out they start heading towards the clip to get what the fish didn't. Your crabs will probably find some left over food hanging around to eat.

cool, thanks!

Yeah, I found the best way for me to remove bubble algae is during a water change and using the siphon hose to scrape them off and suck them right out.

Emerald Crabs are said to take care of bubble algae. I've never really had a problem with bubble algae, however, I have gotten some when I purchased some Chaeto from a LFS. I purposely put it in the tank to see if my Emeralds would eat it. They thumbed....errr...clawed their noses at it. I removed it about a week later. Ummm to Crabs have noses?? LOL

I would suggest manual removal for bubble algae. Adding animals to get rid of it is hit or miss.
