Closed loop for an undrilled tank

yes you are right unless you have a very powerful pump so that the flow/pressure will be fast enough to travel from one side to another.

Or you'll have two. One set (left and middle) and another set(middle and right side).

hmmmm - maybe i need to rethink this whole thing.

i read on reefcentral that a guy with a scwd and a mag 9.5 had about a 6 second delay between left and right. that seems decent. the mag 9.5 has a rate of 950 gph.

i think i'll cancel my order for now and do a little more research on what i should do.

that's a good point.....guess i need to re-think my whole plan. hopefully i can catch marinedepot in the morning before they process my order. :)

i did just read that the SCWD takes away about 30% of your pumps pressure. hmmmmm

ok i cancelled my order now it's time to rethinking my options. so you think i should just go the sea-swirl route? any other ideas out there?

ok this may sound stupid but what is it? i can't really tell what it is or what it does. explain a little, please :)

Picture a square clear acrylic tub hanging length wise/horizontal along the back of a tank just under the water level. Holes can be drilled at any angle or dircted at individual corals. Left and right pics are the end views and of course the pump is not shown. Works great if you use 3/8 holes 10 in 48" tank and a strong pump.

I can build one out of flat. My buddy uses it in his FW plant tank driven by just a magnum 350, Really get the plants moving.
