Help, I just bought 2 oceleris clowns and they are going at it. The seperate some but then start nippin at eachother. is there anything I can do without seperating them? and how long on average does it take for them to start hosting in anenomes?

How close are they to the same size? If they are close they will fight more to become the dominate female.
I had a pair that got along fine for a couple months then one day started fighting. They made up at the end of the day but they do need to figure out who's who.
You also need to make sure they are not both females.
It can take a while fro them to host and anemone. weeks or months.

took me 3 months and a voodoo dance to get my clown in the anenome.

make sure you feed them well.. as long as they are eating, im sure then will figer out whos whos soon

you should make sure they are not the same size...they can fight to the death...if you notice that all they do is fight, I would remove one and possibly look for either another reefer or LFS to trade it out with.

Good Luck

I was just told that clowns both start out as males and they will fight to see who is more the dominate one. Once that is established the more dominate one turns out to be the female and you will notice an increase in size. As for the fighting it can continue for a lengthy period of time.

cool beans!

Np ill give you the full class (clown voodoo 101)
no charge, but the other class's will cost ya,

ill get a pic later for ya

Brady be warned. he came over here to do a voodoo dance and the only thing that happen was the law showed up due to report of a crazy man running around.

Also he wears nothing other than some kind of war paint. Maybe he was on his way home after finishing up a shift at the PP. :D

allright thanks guys is it normal for anenomes to eat hermit crabs??? I came home from work to find just the legs of one of my hermits and the anenome is all shriveled up and my cleaner shrimp started picking out pieces of crab out of the anenome and getting stung at the same time. stupid shrimp he'd stand on him then start freaking out because he was getting stings from the anenome.
