Well, it took less than a day for my clowns to start hosting their new Carpet Anenome. My larger clown barely leaves it now. I went to feed the anenome last night and he came charging out and started biting my fingers and arm to protect the anenome. It is amazing how strong the instinct is in these little fellas.

Yeah nice pics jaimehill! You are lucky to get them to host them so quick much less at all. I had 5 clowns and none of them went near my anemone!

Since Carpet Anemones are natural hosts for Ocellaris and True Perculas I'm not surprised at all. Is the Carpet a Gigantea, Haddoni or Mertensii ?

From looking at it and pictures of others, I am pretty sure it is a gigantea.

What type of lighting do you have ? The gigantea comes from very shallow water and even with halides it's difficult to duplicate that environment. I just bought one myself...good luck :)

I have 4 110w VHO lights on my tank. 2 daylight and 2 actinic. I started the carpet out at the top of the tank on one of the rocks, but I think the light was too much up there, because it moved to the bottom of the tank later in the evening. It has been there since and seems to be doing well so far.

How often are you feeding yours, and what types of food? So far, I have been feeding Prime Reef frozen foods that I soak in RO water for about 30 mins before feeding. I have heard that raw shrimp are good, but I haven't tried it yet.

Yay!! Good job jamiehill~

I feed my hadoni once or twice a week with either a few thawed silversides or a thawed chunk of homemade mush.

That is a Stichodactyla gigantea.
