Cold catho lighting

i dont know how its spelt but i think its cold catho? there is also hot catho light but today where taling about the cold type
so has anyone used these light on there tank or read anything or even seen them before
all i know is that apperntlly a 13watt globe which is about 2 1/2 foot putts out 2-3x more lumens then a 96watt pc light...
so my mate at blue sanctuary hooked me up with a 2 1/2 foot unit with 4 globes in it and so far im very impressed i can barely tell my 150watt is on the tank is bright enough with out the 150mh and now im only running the 150mh to get that little bit more fluresence out of the coral but i imagine 2 more of the cold catho antincs and i would be laughing, plus this thing puts out minimal heat has a low running cost and the unit is resign dipped so if u drop it in the drink just wash in fresh water dry and she's all good to go again
so again has anyone got these seen them in a shop or heard anything about them???

Cold cathode has been around for years. Cute bling for computer cases and under cars. The color and par are never going to match a MH lamp. I doubt the intensity will reach more than an inch or so under water.

thats what i thought don but after seeing it in action iw ould have to disagree with u, its easy to be blind to new advances in the hobby some people miss them all the time and are just out of the loop all togeather i will update some pics today compaing the light with the 150watt light
i mean it might not be as powerful as a mh im not sure yet but its cheaper and more powerful then pcs,t-5 it would end up being a better supplementry light
i dont know maybe when u take your undergravel filter plate out you might be up for talking about some new ideas
