Any one know if the local big box stores will do it? I need two bends and really don't want to buy another tool I probably won't use ever again... (and I hate the idea of buying it, bending and then returning it. Feels like stealing to me)

3/4. just looking to use the conduit to hang some lights over my not yet set up display fuge, and just 90 degree bends drive to issaquah is probably the same price as the tool, although it might be worth it to not have another tool i probably won't use again sitting in my shed....I could trade you a post hole digger, or a tamper...lol

I actually wouldn't use metal conduit over my tank because it will eventually corrode. Why not use the grey plastic conduit that has 90s for sale already? If all else fails, We have many conduit benders at my work one of which is mine. Shoreline Community College. I can bend it for you if you could meet me up there.

If you have to use metal and do not want to mess with borrowing a tool, use an old school trick. Fill the capped pipe with sand and bend over a table or some strong surface. It will curve without crimping.

Well, I kind of figured that if I painted the conduit, I'd be ok as far as the metal is concerned. What concerns me about the plastic/pvc ones is that there will be heat generated from the lights. Heat rises, and well, I guess I'd rather have a little corrosion in the tank than have the lights in the tank. I did quite a few searches before "deciding" on the conduit. I'm just not sure what better option I have, (given my concern with the plastic/pvc) on a rimless tank that I don't want to rig a canopy for.. and hanging from the ceiling isn't really an option where the tank sits.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm open to suggestions... Pretty much a given you guys know more than I do, I just felt somewhat confident after having done the searches..

if you plan you routing you should be able to avoid direct heat from the lights, also you can get 80 sch that ifs much thicker.

There would be no direct heat, but heat rises, and it still worries me, even without direct heat.. I guess I should see how much heat I can feel rising above the lights...
