Here is my actual power consumption which I just got from the power company.
The top paragraph from 10/16/09 to today is when the panels were installed and working. Before that I did not have solar electric. Compare my usage from this year with the panels to last year without panels.
After the word "actual" is my wattage used from the power company.

Paul-
Just thinking about this must make you feel good!

I calculate a "savings" of roughly 2500kwh for the duration listed. Is your system production metered as well, or only net metered? If p metered, how does that 2500 correspond with the amount produced? (Any variance between the two would equal a change in behavior in the household....due to lights, etc.). At $400 savings per 7 month term, and with the NY subsidy, you will be in the black in 7 years (at the MOST!!!). I wish that WA sate was as helpful.
Best regards, Dan

It is supposed to save me $900.00 a year, I will let you know, it has only been running since October. It tells me production also.
The system only cost me about $2,500.00 or so so I should be in the black in 3 years.

Paul-
What has the production been since inception? WA has a production credit of .15 per kwh.... still trying to pencil it out for myself :)
Thanks,
D

Point of use in-sink-erator in kitchen saves a lot of energy for tea, etc.
Went down to 175 w halides on tank
4 cylinder autos, multi tasking all trips.
Installed a dula fuel heat pump on new house with fancy controller, love it!

I finally changed out our light bulbs to the energy efficient ones. We are being more mindful of turning off our lights when they're not in use and unplugging our chargers, etc. My husband also has our hot water heater turned down. I'm also going to start shutting down our computers every night because we normally don't.

Well I had not planned on anything more this year but it looks like I need to replace a hot water heater. I was up late lastnight and found the Bosch 2700 ES NG for a pretty good price and the $1500.00 income tax credit makes it worth it.

Now I have to finish the dry wall in the laundry room so I can get this installed. I think I might upgrade the furnace and AC unit too.

Only conservation i've done so far is replaced every single light in the apartment with 13w CFL bulbs. We have modern electric and our normal bill is $40 or so dollars/month. I definitly noticed a decrease once all bulbs were switched out.
