here is a newbie question:

how difficult are clams to take care of? what are their requirements?

The two main concerns with keeping clams is keeping your calcuim levels where they should be and really intense lighting except for squasoma clam which can have less lighting!

they sound relatively easy to care for then. are they meant more for a mature tank? my tank just finished it's cycle.

Sorry mattseattle that I missed your question! I think clams can be kept after you have a mature tank that is a year old or more!
