Ive read that you should feed your corals a few times a week with phytoplankton a couple hours before your lights come on in t he morning and zooplankton a couple hours after your lights go off in the evening. If this is the recomended practice, my question is in regards to protein skimming.

Should the use of a protein skimmer be turned off when feeding phytoplankton or zooplankton and if so, for how long should the protein skimmer be turned off?

It would seem to me that a lot of what you are feeding would be lost to skimming.

First, let me welcome you to Reef Frontiers!!

Secondly, I'll point you to a great thread on Coral Feeding

Third, before we talk about phyto, why don't you tell us what types of corals you are trying to feed?

Thank you! I have mainly LPS corals but have started to add a few SPS's. I also have a toadstool and a finger leather.

Thanks for the link I try to get to it this evening.
