Ok, if we can make it south this evening we will get adequate lighting to finally add some corals.

( have GSP that was generously given to us and some anthelia that came on LR we bought)
for a newbie any recommendations on nice corals that a novice can sustain?

lighting will be 150W MH with 2 actinics and 2 lunar LEDS (44G corner)

I have a 150 MH sun pod on my 34 gal solana, I have sps that are growing very well under the light, the depth of your tank will have a lot to do with it. my tank is 20x20x20 so 20" of depth and my green and purple ridge cap montipora is about at the bottom and is the fastest growing and is very vibrant in color.

tank is 24" deep, I realize that Ill haev to be wary of any light hungry livestock at the bottom.
Ohhhh I love hammerheads n frogspawns forgot to consider those. we added a pair of clowns so we do hope to offer something they will host

I am located in Stanwood.

I have an extra softball size green button polyp rock. You can have it, if you like...

You are also welcome to check out my system... I have a 120 gallon tank stuffed with easy corals... :)

Shoot me a PM....

Definately go with the zoas/palys. They are extremely easy, fast growing, and quite spectacular. There are many varieties out there that you can come across for very little if not free. I would give you some if you were near by. Problem is, after starting with zoanthids like I did, you tend to keep them around for a while until you are searching for the more rare and beautiful ones that can cost a pretty penny (sometimes upward of $50 per polyp).

well mine took awhile too... a couple of months at least.
Yep it grows and spreads fast.. I have found I can "peel" it off the rocks
and have been throwing it in my sump or away.
