Ok here is my question.
What causes a coral to grow one color in the wild, and then the new growth inside my tank is still attached to the wild colony, but it is a different color. I am not talking about the growth tips, I mean the solid stalk.
It was green in the wild with pink tips. It browned up in shipping and holding at the LFS, it greened back up in my tank.
The new growth in my tank is completly differnt from the old growth. I dont understand why, if the new growth is experincing the exact same conditions the old growth is why it is a different color. Any ideas on that?
Ok these pictures are adjusted for me having 20000k bulbs. It is actually much brighter, and the tips are pink. The new growth is just stupid electric green, but no pink tips.
Could it be two of the same coral, just differnt color morphs? I am pretty lost as what is causing this.
