i see.
yeah, xenias like alittle bit high ph (8.4), decent flow.
Some people supplement iodine to their tanks because they say it helps but i have xenias and have never done it.
I said it's in a very bad shape because it looks like it's shrinked and from the first picture, it looks like it's missing some of the polyp thingys, don't trust me to much because i could be wrong and my eyes are not that good :p .

does it pulse?

Looks like Xenia elongata to me. The hardiest Xenia IMO/IME. It will pulse under high light. It can be very prolific in high nutrient tanks even under low light conditions.

Kevin

Short term yes but you need to fix the problem. Using baking soda long term can cause your tank to crash. Try increasing surface agitation. Do you have a cover on your tank?

If you keep your Ca and Alk levels within acceptable ranges, and you have fresh air around the tank, ph will _usually_ take care of itself. (The fresh air thing is especially important as we button up our houses for winter in the cooler climes.)

i have new pic's of the coral the ph is around 8.3 it looks to be doing better:D

krish is your aquapod before the cube u had

Nope:oops: I had the 38gal cube before the aquapod which the aquapod is my current tank now. I'm thinking on having another tank custom built in the new year for me and tleave the aquapod up for my little girl:)

Funny thing about xenia that I've observed since I'm farming the fraggin things all of the time. Want them to grow like weeds, dirtier tank, potassium iodide supplement (lot less then directed). If they end up in really high flow, the arms stretch out, I measured one to be 5 inches in length. They tend to pulse much more in the following conditions: pH is perfect, flow is lower and lights are on. Im not trained in science but I'm a nicely paid and somewhat trained voyeur......I meant observer.
