Actualy, with some of the larger polyp species such as yours, simply very gently touching it or removing it into the air for 30 seconds will cause it to withdraw its tissue which may reveal its skeletal details long enough to get a decent photo of it for reference, being able to see its septa formations / cycles as well as corallite placement / size and spacing will go a long way in having a fairly decent chance at identification. I also realize that doing so is not everyone's idea of a good time either...lol, Personaly I like the challenge of solving the mystery. If you do by chance ever get such a photo, I would be glad to try and help figure it out. Am glad to hear it seems to be doing well for you.
