Hi ,
I have been in the hobby for about 6 mo now but I can't find the best way to place a coral and have it not blow away I have been told to use super glue or bio glue. Can I use either and if so where do you find bio glue at.

I dont have a clue what bio glue is but prefer super glue gel. You can find it at your local reefing LFS, on line and some buy it in small tube bulk packs at HD and Lowes.

Thanks for that link you said you can get it at homedepot are you talking about just regular old gel super glue or the stuff that is in the link . And if you are talking about super glue it dosent give of toxins in the water.

no matter what you call it or how thin or thick you get it, it is all super glue and reefers have been using it for years.

Setting corals or repairing coral it all will work the list below is what I have used and the last is what worked best for me.

Super glue runs
Two Little fishes a little thicker still get on my hands.
Ic-Gel seems to work the best for me and they mean gel.

I buy glue at the local hobby store, they usually have CA (cyanoacrylate) glue ie. superglue in all kinds of thicknesses. For soft coral I've used a rubberband around a rock or kinda smashing it between two rocks 'till it's attached.

Thanks I have trided the two rock method a few times it worked okay but my flow pushs them over but I going to use some rubber bands when I do my next softy . And if I'm uderstading glue is glue . Thanks for all the info guy been lots of help

Ive lost so many frags and things over the years... because i never just went and got a container of glue... i would always try to wedge em, and pin em... and they would get blow over days later or what not...

i folded and bought a container of "reef glue" seems like regular epoxy to me i just but the glue on the piece... then hold the frag in the glue for a few seconds... it hardings a little and im able to place the frag and plug on the self....

another thing was the self....

loctite super glue gel seems to work good to.

Bridal veil works real well when attaching softies. Cover the softy with some bridal veil and secure it with a rubber band. Depending on what the softy is, you can usually remove it after about 2-3 weeks. You can get bridal veil at any fabric store for about $2 a yard.
