CPR in tank refugium

Im also toyin' with the Idea of just going to mc lendons picking up a few sheets of acrylic, saw the pieces acording to how big I want the fuge to be (Hang on tank) and attach them together, make an inlet and outlet and grow pods and chaeto in there :D

I use the CPR Aqufuge and it works great. The out take is just overflow. Pods do live and grow in the fuge, but do end up in the main tank for food for your fish.

Well my plan was to use silicone to attach the pieces, let it dry, make 2 holes, 1 rio power head each that makes the intake, and one that makes an outtake. I will probably add my lil 55watt pc to it, the cheato and the pods will love it! I wasnt talking about the aquafuge at first I was talking about the mini in tank one.

Would that work finn? Im kinda worried about the two power head thing, if one goes out like the out take, the in take will keep filling the fuge, and if the intake doesnt work, then the out take will spill all of the fuge water into the tank... Im thinking of getting a medium aquafuge, but I dont want to spend much money on it you know?

I don't think silicone will do the job. It doesn't have a very good track record at holding acrylic. There are several different acrylic glues. One is Weld-on #16. I think that is the gel glue.
I know there are several people here that are wizards with acrylic. They need to jump in.

Keep a look out for used ones on the different boards. I would suggest going with the Aquafuge. There have been some posts about diy refugiums on ebay. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

If you check out ebay, there are several aquafuges for sale.
But if you notice the ones for sale by"usa-aquarium", beware, they are "kits" that you have to assemble and I have read that the plastic is a little on the thin side. I guess if you are very neat and carefull, you could have a water tight fuge.
