Critters from reef to freshwater tank?

Thanks to a massive power outage, I lost most of a reef and fish tank. Does anyone know if the various snails and hermit crabs from that saltwater environment could dwell in a freshwater (e.g., Africans or other) tank?

Try a local fish store and ask to trade them for credit. For when you restart the marine tank.
