Tracy-
Have you seen your little guy eat yet? I'm curious what they seem to like with that tiny mouth...

Susie :)

i would cautious everyone as much as i would love this fish.. if he dies he may kill everything around him (venomous). I don't mean to scare anyone and i know i will try to get one again but in a smaller tank (i had him in a 180 gallon with strong flow and that was too much for him) i think!

Boxfish-cowfish

Tracy I don't have a CUBICUS - Box Fish But I do have 2 different cow fish species a Lactoria cornuta Common Name: Longhorn Cowfish, and a Tetrosomus Gibbosus common name:Camel Cowfish,
They are very docile and get along with all tank mates good They are omnivores eating Nori and meaty items When small feed them Nori flakes and mysid shrimp if you keep them it take about 2-3 years to go from a grape size to a 8" long fish my bigger one eats 2-3 scallops every 3-4 days and supplemental Nori daily.
you can't have clams,& any shrimp they love them but keeping every thing Else has not been a problem.

curious... How large is your tank(what inhabitants)? ive always wanted to get a cow fish but though they should be in a species only tank?

I Would love a photo

24gal pod.
Have some good news:D:D:D. The little guy is is eating " Yahoo". Thanks to susie. She hooked me up with a MAGIC mixture. As of yesterday night it was eating. Cross my fingers today, will see.
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you, Susie :)

That's really good news! Mine is so funny when it eats I've been feeding him about 4 times a day. Probably toooo much. If he gets to be 8+ inches I don't think he'll fit in his tank anymore  It's one of the most mesmerizing little fish I've ever had!

Susie :D

Slayer, We have great luck with them , they all eat pellets.

One thing though if they are the size of a dime they dont do that well , ours are normally the size of a small golfball.

Cyclop-eeze may work ..
Good luck

So Tracy.... it looks like the gauntlet has been thrown down and we have a challenge here, especially me. I'm going to have to try to get some size comparison pics, just for fun.

It is about the size of a dime :(. So far so good. If this little guy dont make it I will try a bigger one. Thanks.
The color has faded a bit. Hope it not on its way out :(.
Did my first water change in the Nano and he seem to not mind.
Wish it was a little more aggressive when it comes to eating. It seems to just go after what comes close. I do see it picking at the rock. They say it will sometimes blow at the sand. Have not seen that yet.
Oh ya my wife named it "BOB". Now it has a name. Me is in big trouble if he, sorry "BOB" dies.
She named him that because he just bobs around LOL. Got-a Love her :D.
Susie. Size, I will let you tell them. Put it this way I dont think they make money that small.
Come on baby GROW,GROW,GROW.

i have seen 100 of box fish on bigger then pinky finger and they all feed well on brine shrimp i have had one and lost it to high flow. i have also seen long horned box fish this size and have several customers who have all grown theres to match box size in less then a year

That's good news Morgan! Right now, if mine were next to a grape, the grape would make about 3 of him. He's more like a little pea bopping around in the tank. I have to look really hard for him in my 10G nano... but he's eating really well and gets very excited when I'm feeding (I know Lee, fish don't get excited :p) so I have high hopes for him.

I'll try to post a pic or two after school today. I need a little technical help from my kids .
