Cured vs Cycled

If I read the link properly. If I have cured live rock I can add it to a cycled system without messing up the nitrogen cycle much?

Smell it. If the LR smells like rotten eggs or sulfur, then it is NOT cured. However, if the LR smells like ocean water then it is cured.
 
I wouldn't add cured live rock from an lfs to your display. There will be some die off, and who knows how long they have really had it. It is pretty easy to cure it yourself, and after your done you can put it right in with no worry.
 
It depends on how much your adding. A chunk here and there isnt going to hurt anything as long as the tank is handling its current bioload.

i would self cure it... or more like qt it for a while fist... so you can start to see some life on it.. see what your geting in to.
