I have put together a 40 breeder and plan to keep sps only in it. Maybe a clam or two.

I am considering against adding any fish to keep nutrent load down.

I am surre there are some of you who keep fishless systems. Could you please tell me what kind of coral feeding (if any) schedule that you keep.

Thanks

Tough Question -- Rare Reefer that keeps no fish. I only keep a few, and feed very little to the fish. I don't think you want to feed the sps --- Maybe live phyto 1 a month skimmer and pumps off. Nutrients will gather in your tank anyway. Instead maybe dose high quality micro nutrients a little more and focus on calcium and water perameters.

Actuall keeping fish with sps is a good way to feed sps. They feed off the waist of the fish. Just make sure you have a effecient skimmer and carbon 24/7

I have kept several SPS tanks without fish and I don't feed any food but an occasional dose of cyclopeeze. I do maintain calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium near NSW levels.

Regards,
Kevin

Yes as Kevin mentioned, they need more light than most anything else for food, If you do feed a mush you must also remove it almost as quick as you put it in, DonW has been experimenting with that type of feeding & getting good results but you have to look at his filtration as a whole to understand how he can do it & still keep the tank algae free.
