I don't think you will find many people that will say good things about this skimmer. You could always go with a hang on back Rio and have it mesh modded. Either that or if you want to spend a little more the Octopus hang on backs are supposed to be pretty nice.

I would suggest any of these cost effective skimmers before a fission

Aqua C Remo Nano
Pacific Coast Nano Skimmer
and even
Sanders Piccollo Air Driven

All these skimmers are very cost effective besides the Aqua C about $149.99

imo, nano skimmers should be avoided, most are total crap.
aqua c skimmers are the devil...any model...

the skimmer is the heart and soul of your filtration, especially on a nano with no buffering capacity...
for a 10g hang on skimmer i would suggest;
octopus bh100f
deltec mce300
and the only nano skimmer i like...
tunze 9002

the whole trick to making your 10g stable is treating it like a bigger aquarium, ie: buying filtration for a 50-100g tank. sound crazy??
look at this tank...and it could even use more skimming...:)

Mark,

How do you **really** feel.??

LOL

BTW, I love the passion you have for your skimmers.

Key word was COST EFFECTIVE Octopus HOB is the only cost effective skimmer on that list. Some people may be planning to upgade their nano to a much much larger (ie 180g, 225g, 325g) tank later and want to save the cash. Octopus HOB is a fantastic skimmer for the money!
