Room seperator tanks can be very cool looking. I highly recommend making it as wide as you can ( at least 30" ) to allow for space the overflow is going to hog up.

I agree with Brian... mine is 36in wide and after you put the overflow in the center and divide the remaining space by 2, you really don't end up with a lot of space in the middle between the rock and the glass.
