I just came across a smokin deal on a Nikon D70. Since its an older camera the manual only refers to cf cards up to 512mb. Can I use larger mem cards in it, say 1 or 2gb?
I have a D70 and use a 1gb microdrive on mine. THe 512 is I believe all that was tested at the time of the manual. I don't shoot raw very often, if I did then the 1gb would even have it's limits.
The D70 is new enough that I don't see any problems with running up to a 2 gig in it. I'm sure it'll hold more than the 512 that's published. I'd try going to Nikon's website for more information. If that doesn't get you anywhere, try http://www.fredmiranda.com/ and ask in the Nikon forum.
There's also the possibility that your's is an earlier D70 and can be firmware upgraded to accept larger memory. My Canon Rebel Xt had a firmware upgrade to allow up to 4 gig.
