I have a red sea max 34 gallon, it has two little pumps the push the water back into the tank with a on/off switch for each pump. When I turn both pumps on after a while one of the pumps shoots out air bubble like crazy. I have to turn it off and just run the one. Can anyone let me know why this might be happening? What can I do to make both work properly.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, extend the suction on both, (about 6") use a Tye-Wrap to hold the bottom housing together, works like a charm.

:( Thanks for the suggestion. At first it seem like it was working and then 20 mins later it was shooting out air like carzy again. I have attached a drawing of what I did, and hopefully I understood what you were saying.

Thanks

Yea that's it, come to think about it, I might of gone longer maybe 8" or 10", one thing to remember it takes a while for everything to settle in, eventually I think it will get better.

oh that sucks didnt realize they put the pumps on top like that instead of on the bottom. the sump return is just 2 powerheads on those ? could try just running more water in there too. On my crappy biocube i ripped the bioballs out and put ina skimmer so i just keep the water level really high back there. not sure exactly how the red sea is set-up but im sure the cpr 3 would fit in there if theres not already a skimmer.
