Recently moved to a new house and we have set-up our 75 gallon in the finished basement room. The tank already produces humidity, so I am researching into de-humidifiers. Does anyone else run a de-humidifier? Any recommendations on a reliable and good working one? I'm hoping to set up plumbing so that it will automatically drain.

I have one I bought at Sears about 10 years ago that I bring out in the winter.
They do make some noise and produce heat so take that into consideration.
They also suck alot of power when they cycle. ( 1500 watts?).

My 90 gallon was making my apartment really humid so I bought a frigidaire dehumidifier on Craigslist for $100. It works great but it creates a lot of heat so I tried a turning it off and using a glass top on my tank and that stopped my humidity problem

It is most likely though to cause another problem.
Without proper air exchange at the surface of the water, with a good supply of non CO2 laden air, the pH is liable to slowly degrade until it is too low.

I agree, I should mention that my glass lid only covers about 80% of my tank and I haven't had any ph or heat issues. It does really help with evaporation and humidity
