I wouldnt worry about the qt for this acro. I always cut the base off and throw it out. Then dip all in interceptor. Worse case is it has bugs, but the interceptor will take care of that. But it will also take care of the crabs good and bad. Your not going to see the bugs in the qt tank unless you have bright lights and very good eyes. JMO

i am worried about transfering ich or other parasites.. i actually didn't even think about red bugs..i need to get some Interceptor today anyway..the dogs were supposed to get them 4 days ago...also, why do you throw the base out...wouldn't it grow a new colony???

A dead base gives the algea a place to collinate on the corals which you dont want.

Alot of places use concrete and lr for the mounting base. You never know whats hiding in the pours. Acros dont carry ich but alot of nasties may be living in the base. Interceptor will kill bugs and nasties.

I hate coral mounting bases. Your better off gluing it to your own rock. I equate it to swapping boxers. You never know what your going to catch.

It does not take much. Just use about 1/6 of a big pill in a 2 qt container. I have a very huge Rot that gaurds my shop so I get the big pills.
