We fragged our display Australian Elegance again. Its been in captivity for years and the frags have been thriving for about 10 days now. The orginal owner, who we give credit when they sell, has allowed us to lower the prices we posted originally.

5- 3"-5" frags $149.99
1- 6"-8" frag $199.99

This is a super nice coral and the frags look nice and healthy. Also great price for what you get.
I wish I would have the money

I was in last weekend and in looking at the frags, I just couldn't believe how big that thing was to start with! I mean... it was definitely BIG, but looking at the "frags" it seems like the sum of the pieces is definitely bigger than the original! Must be like Chinese food, you just keep eating, but it doesn't disappear!

whats interesting about this elegance is that the tentacles are so much thinner than the other ones I've seen. I love how they sway around in the current. Looks awesome!

Sorry. We don't have any pics of the frags. There is so much water movement that its hard to get a good picture without spending a considerable amount of time staging. There is 3"-8", in length, of skeleton on each frag. Here is a closeup Blazer88 took of the part of the mother colony a few months back. The purple tips on each tentacle aren't showing but they are purple. The reason the tentacles are so long and stringy is the fact that its an SPS dominated tank and has so much flow. With less water movement the tentacles would probably inflate with more water and look more traditional. The tentacles look more traditional here because the pumps were off for a couple hours while photos were taken.

I totally agree! We were in the store last Friday and we were mesmerized by the long, graceful tentacles. If we had more flow in our tank & confidence in caring for an elegance, we would have taken one home. We've had a standard neon green elegance for 2 months now & so far so good!

Thats always been my favorite coral. I had heard about how hard they were to care for and when I saw you guys with one back when you first opened, I silently predicted its demise within a few months. Two years later and it has grown into a monster! So happy I was able to get a piece of it.

Peace

i disagree with the care level of this coral i have seen them in all sorts of tanks and they seem to be farily hardy as long and calcium and Kh are kept good they can tolerate a lot of differnt lights

Australian elegance have a good track record, but for a period of many years you couldn't get one in the US that would last more then a few weeks. Even extremly skilled reefers had them die for no apparent reason, which earned them a pretty bad rap.
