Here is the beginning of my little clam only tank. Test fitting the glass after cutting and sanding. I left the bottom 1/8" large so that it can lock into the top of the stand. Thing is so tall and skinny I was concerned with tipping. I'll stick it together later after Ive had more coffee.:)

Let me guess, you cut your own glass and polished it by hand LOL, is there anything you'd trust others doing for you or is that part of the whole perfection type thing LOL?
Looks nice, anything you do somehow turns out that way!

Yeah, for rimless tanks black silicone looks pretty good. For me, it's almost like framing a picture. It sort of defines the viewing space.

Looks like you're off to a good start.

Thanks for the kind words. I havent decided what silicone to use I have both. Got a little side tracked over the week-end. As some know my house was robbed so Ive been preoccupied with finding ways to protect my stuff.

Cutting glass is very easy especially the 1/4" that Im using on this project. Buying scraps saves a few bucks, these 5 pieces cost under $4 after tax. The glass shop I use will save the scraps if you call a day in advance and let them know what size to save.

I do cheat a little. I just bought replacement cutter wheels for a regular glass cutter. Three are mounted in line into a peice of UHMW. The UHMW block slides on a Fes rail, this allow both sides to be scored perfectly. Once the glass is snap cut I run a diamond tile blade down the edge mounted in a Fes plunge saw. This just sands the edge smooth and takes off the ribbon break.

Sorry to hear you got robbed Don. :doubt: That's one thing I never was able to tolerate...People who steal and lie  You need to rig something to blow off their hands next time ;)

Well I did it. Ive decided not to drill the tank and do something Ive never see on any other tank. I'm going with blown lab glass inlet and outlets, cost 30 times as much as the tank but I think it will be worth it.:)

These inlets/outlets will they be connected with some sort of hose? This should be cool, where or who will do this?

Blown Glass outlets and Inlets?

Wow! I want to see pix please?

if he is talking about lily pipes then yes hoses are usually attached going to and from a cannister filter, most common used on ADA style FW planted tanks. There are a bunch of people doing ADA nanos usng these lily pipes and they are almost invisible in the water, but can cost over $100 through ADA. There are other makers on Ebay not as expensive.

are you talking about ADA lily style pipes on a cannister filter? If so its been done a lot check out the ADA reef thread on nano reefs. Looks very clean and is a nice touch to rimless tanks

Thanks. I just found those. NR just gave my pc an ugly virus so im down to the phone until its wiped. Ill post more later.
