My CS100 did not come with a lid, the package says that comes with the deluxe version. Hmm, but I did find te lid online, maybe Ill get it someday...

WHAT!

how the hell do they sell it with out a lid???

Thats news to me....

U useing a aqua lifter?

Hmm...Did know there was a such thing as a deluxe model:confused: In any event, All you need is a piece of scrap acrylic or plastic that you can put over the top. :)

Ya, thats what i was think K,

I didnt know they came in better and best mode

oK so i got everything running. Its great but i hear some "running" water coming from the drain hose. I wrapped it in an old shirt and that helps a little. But at least no flooding!
So my next big question is how long should I wait before I worry that teh skimmer isnt skimming? I moved it to the sump and it hasnt pulled anything out. The tank water is starting to look a little hazy and green. If the skimmer was still on the tank im sure it would be pulling lots o crap out. Its a Remora hanging IN the sump on a bracket I made. The water level is the same that it was when it was working in the tank.

at least a day....

maybe a couple...

my remora is in my sump as well

Yeah, just give it time and see how it goes. If you had your hand in the tank, then the oil's from your skin will prevent the skimmer from skimming for awhile, but that shouldn't last too long. Let us know how it goes...If still no skimmate today, maybe try adjusting the skimmer cup some which is what I had to do with my Remora:)

Its still not skimming today. So it has been three days that there is no sign of it skimming (I reinstalled the sump Wednesday). I moved the cup up becasue it was set pretty low from before. Could the silicone or pvc glue be affecting the skimmer? Im used to the skimmer stopping from feeding the tank, it never really stopped from my hands being in the tank before (i paid attention). I have a bunch of new parts and tubing that connect the tank to the sump, i also added a phosban filter. I took some pictures but the camera batteries crapped out mid shoot, so im waiting to recharge.
Im also concerned about the amount of bubbles coming from the sump inlet. it goes right into the skimmer area of the sump.

Id say yes.... the silicone could

my recomendtaion is to do a few water changes.

i wouldnt get worrried yet. if it goes for a week..... Then yes i would start bashing my head in to the wall

hang tight...

Instead of an old shirt, you might think about a filter sock. I'm going to be installing one on my drain line soon too. I finally got my sump/refugium built and am waiting for the silicon to cure. I'll get it up and running before tonight's meeting. Probably be putting a filter sock on it in the next week or so.

Hey Mike, I think I confused you with my old shirt comment. The shirt is actually wrapped around the outside of the drain line to muffle it. It cuts the water running noise almost in half, I still hear it going through the overflow, but thats tolerable for now. Id like to quiet it down ever more though...
One of these days I need to come over and see your setup, maybe take some notes on how to set stuff up properly:)
