I don't recall seeing your bubble counter? Yes a little square will work fine w/ a jg fitting in either end. On my next reactor I will be using the small pan world.
 
I just bought an aquamedic. it wasn't sealing very well. I tried to fix it and broke it.
 
yup, just make a little box w/ 1/4" and it will match your reactor nicely. When I had mine I just glued it onto the side of the reactor and it was awesome. View attachment 9030
 
I went to the shop and had a short piece of tube lying around. It was 2.5" dia about 5" long so I slapped some ends on it taped in the speedfits and now I have the a soda can looking bubble counter. It works great much better than the aquamedic. I think the aquamedic wasn't sealing well at all. So much for trying to buy something to save me time. but all worked out.
 
I just found your thread and was wonder how the reactor is working. I've been considering also building my own reactor.
